Card Consolidation Credit Debt Essex County's decade-old recycling program got a major boost yesterday when the state Department of Environmental Protection announced the county would receive a $859,000 grant, more than double the amount it received last year.

It is part of a larger program that aims to upgrade 12 playgrounds by Nov. 1.

Credit Guide Managing Herrmann said the grant could help reduce the amount of trash municipalities haul to a Newark incinerator and nonhazardous materials that are not considered trash, such as mattresses and other bulk items, to a landfill in North Arlington under an ECUA contract.
